Job Description The Digital Channels Platform Manager is responsible for the operational excellence and continuous evolution of digital platforms that support customer interaction and engagement. This role involves ensuring the integrity, consistency, and resilience of digital platform features across regions, managing enhancements and technical debt, and ensuring platforms meet high standards of availability, reliability, performance, and security. The goal is to enable exceptional customer experiences and drive digital innovation within the organization.
Key Responsibilities Design, develop and maintain an integrated business model: Deliver products and services to meet the changing needs of the customer across the value chain. Develop Platform Architectures and Roadmaps: Collaborate with IT leaders, product managers, and technical teams to create and maintain strategies and roadmaps for digital channels that align with business and IT objectives. Architectural Management: Work with stakeholders to develop and maintain up-to-date As-Is and To-Be conceptual, logical, and physical architectures of digital platforms. Roadmap Visibility and Delivery: Define and communicate key features and activities required for digital platforms, ensuring their visibility and timely delivery. Standards Monitoring: Ensure digital platforms adhere to engineering standards for stability, resilience, and performance. Security and Service Level Objectives: Guarantee that digital platforms are secure and meet service level objectives. Continuous Improvement Practices: Advance capabilities towards automatic builds using Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, and Infrastructure as Code. Technical Debt Management: Maintain control over technical debt levels, ensuring regular refactoring and remediation. Run-Book Development: Develop and maintain run-books for digital platform services and functions. Platform Operations Management Capacity Planning and Maintenance: Work with operations teams to automate housekeeping and maintenance routines, ensuring adequate capacity levels. Version Management: Maintain support levels by upgrading components according to agreed versions. Disaster Recovery: Conduct disaster recovery testing according to schedules. Service Level Agreement Development: Collaborate with stakeholders to develop SLAs and ensure monitoring and alerts for system issues. Development Infrastructure and Support Continuous Delivery Pipeline: Establish and maintain a toolchain for continuous delivery, including integration, builds, testing, and deployment. Environment Creation: Develop platforms and environments for development, solution demos, and user acceptance testing, potentially using cloud-based services. Demonstration Preparation: Assist delivery teams in preparing environments for demonstrating new solution functionalities. Solution Deployment Support: Aid delivery teams in packaging and deploying solutions as part of DevOps and Continuous Delivery activities. Testing and Improvement Support Test Scenario Development: Collaborate with feature teams to create and organize automated test scenarios and cases. Data Set Extension: Extend test scenarios to data sets that closely match production environments. Performance Testing: Assess solution performance against non-functional requirements and identify bottlenecks. Service delivery to ensure customer satisfaction Quality and Compliance: Maintain service quality by ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, and standards. Stakeholder Relationships: Build productive relationships with stakeholders in various channels and teams. Work Routine Development: Develop routines aligned with operational plans to achieve service delivery goals. Standard Creation: Share knowledge and contribute to creating new standards and procedures to maintain service delivery. Ensure cost efficiency through financial and corporate governance Security Compliance: Ensure digital platforms are secure to prevent unauthorized access and comply with licensing agreements. Failure Analysis and Remediation: Identify root causes of platform failures and implement remediation actions. Code Quality Assurance: Ensure all deployed code complies with change and release management processes. Continuous Engagement: Maintain regular engagement with customers and users of digital platforms. Guideline Documentation: Ensure platform usage guidelines are documented and accessible. Metric Publishing: Publish availability, performance metrics, and maintenance plans for stakeholders. Continuous Improvement Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed on statutory and legislative changes to advise on risk mitigation and improve customer experiences. Policy Adherence: Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures. Operational Efficiency Solutions: Identify cost-effective solutions to enhance operational efficiency. Manage quality people practices Cultural Alignment: Align behavior with organizational culture and values. Knowledge Sharing: Transfer product, process, and system knowledge to colleagues. Collaborative Working: Collaborate with business teams to meet service levels. Information Sharing: Actively share information about successes, issues, trends, and ideas with team members. Experience, knowledge & skills required A relevant Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems or related qualification at NQF7 level or equivalent qualification. 10+ years of experience in digital platform management, software engineering, or DevOps. Knowledge and experience in DevOps practices and tools. Experience in systems automation, orchestration, deployment, and implementation. Familiarity with test automation practices and tools. Knowledge of IT service management. Skills Education Bachelors Degree (B) (Required)
