The Plant manager will lead and oversee all operational aspects of the juice and water plant ensuring efficient production, optimal resource utilization and adherence to quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
This role focuses on achieving business objectives including production targets, cost control, continuous improvement and creating a safe environment for staff to operate optimally.Key Responsibilities:Oversee the daily operations of the juice and water plant, ensuring efficient and continuous production.Monitor and optimize production processes to meet quality, yield, and efficiency standards.Manage and maintain plant equipment, ensuring minimal downtime through proactive maintenance strategies.Lead, coach, and motivate a production and administrative team, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and performance.Train and develop staff to improve their skills and operational efficiency.Ensure effective communication between Supply chain departments to align goals and resolve issues promptly.Ensure products meet the highest quality and safety standards.Comply with health and safety regulations, food safety protocols, and industry standards.Lead and support audits, certifications, and inspections (e.g., HACCP, FSSC).Ensure that all juice production standards are strictly adhered to in accordance with GMP and food safety assurance (FSA certification) requirements.Develop and manage the plant's operational budget and business plan, ensuring cost control and resource optimization.Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production, waste, and costs.Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.Drive process improvements and implement lean manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.Lead innovative initiatives to improve product offerings and production techniques.Collaborate with the planning team to create production plans aligned with customer demand.Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods to ensure consistent production.Promote and enforce a culture of workplace safety, ensuring a safe environment for all employees.Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and sustainability goals, including waste reduction and energy efficiency.Work closely with senior management to align plant performance with overall business objectives.Address and resolve any operational issues, including equipment breakdowns or supply chain disruptions.Develop contingency plans to manage risks effectively and ensure continuity.Oversee the purchasing, receiving and inspect all incoming raw material according to documented product specifications.Manage the efficient utilization of all assets.Achieve set "Manufacture Excellence Charter" ratings.Conduct monthly inventory and stock control exercises ensuring accuracy of the inventory and stock system.Minimum Requirements:Production Management Diploma or related field.Minimum of 5 (Five) years experience, of which 3 (Three) years should have been at a managerial level in the food processing industry.GMP & HACCP Knowledge.Strong understanding of manufacturing processes.Highly computer literate.Strong managerial skills.Good communication and interpersonal skills.Team player.Excellent management skills.Excellent organizational skills.Detail oriented.Ability to meet deadlines.
