Our client in the petrochemical industry located in Umbogintwini, South Africa is looking for a Plant Field Operator.Job FunctionThe Plant Field Operator reports to the Shift Supervisor and is responsible for control and monitoring of the field operations of the plant and day-to-day operations of the tank farm.ResponsibilitiesControls the Field Operations of the plant and tank farmChecks and records plant operating conditions and reports abnormalities/faulty equipmentAnalyses plant and product samples and preparation of chemical and product batchesAssists with the preparations of the plant work clearance permits and monitoring of contractors working on the plantInspections and filling of road tanker / ISO-TankMaintains a good working relationship with all Evonik Peroxide Africa personnelActs as a Panel Operator upon requestControls the housekeeping and safety of the field section of the plantCompliance with the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and Responsible Care standards and proceduresRequirementsMatric with National N6 Certificate in Chemical Engineering and minimum 10 years working experience in petrochemical/chemical plant operationNational Diploma in Chemical Engineering, and minimum 10 years working experience in petrochemical/chemical plant operationBTech Chemical Engineering, and minimum 5 years working experience in petrochemical/chemical plant operationVery good English communication skills (verbal, listening and written communication)Motivation, confidence and development orientationProactive team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitudeReliability and accountability with the execution of tasksPrepared to work on day and night shifts or on standby as per shift rosterComputer skills (MS Office)Own transport and a valid driver's licenseDesired SkillsPlant Field OperatorChemical EngineeringPetrochemicalChemical plant operation
