ESAB continues to offer world-class technical support and educational opportunities to help our customers work smarter and better.This position plans, schedules and monitors the movement of materials through the production cycle to determine required materials purchases. Responsibilities include:Obtaining materials using engineering and production schedules to maintain inventory at planned levels (i.e., Just in Time purchases, use of EOQ - Economic Order Quantities).Resolving discrepancies.Creating and maintaining bills of material and parts/commodities numbers in supply chain management or other enterprise-wide systems.Ensuring material standards are met and non-conformances or variances are approved and/or minimized.Developing specifications for new contract orders.Gathering quotations, examining bids and making awards.Monitoring cost, schedule and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure best quality at best value.Evaluating vendor reliability and developing new supply sources where vendors and suppliers are no longer competitive.Applying general concepts and principles to resolve a variety of issues.Working on problems of a moderate scope where analysis of situation or data requires a review of a variety of factors.Typically requires a degree and a minimum of 2 years of experience.
