Participate with Senior Management in developing and establishing goals and objectives to support robust supply chain processes and continuous process improvement.Formulate supply chain management strategies and policies aligned to the overall Finance Strategy and implement the consolidated supply chain management operational plan, aligned to the roadmap.Oversee all aspects of the warehouse and logistics function, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, shipping, and transportation.Implement best practices for warehouse management, including organizing stock, implementing FIFO system, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.Research and determine optimal inventory levels, economic order quantities, etc., and set inventory levels across the organization, ensuring the lowest inventory cost profile is managed to meet functional requirements.Use sales forecasts to prepare the operational strategic plan to address volume and resource requirements and constraints.Introduce and reinforce control measures to manage the implementation of accurate and timely receiving practices. Spot-check deliveries received, monitor the recording of shortages and overs, and investigate discrepancies.Negotiate and conclude contracts for inbound and outbound logistics.Identify and implement opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the full supply chain end-to-end function, warehousing, and logistics function.Act as subject matter expert and provide supply chain management professional opinion to the organization on all procurement contracts for goods, works, services, and consultancies.Monitor organizational contract management to ensure conformity with the contract terms and conditions and escalate any significant variances to relevant stakeholders.Negotiate contracts with suppliers to ensure that AECI receives the best possible value for its expenditure.Manage supplier performance by monitoring their service to AECI, identifying and addressing any issues, and working with suppliers to improve their performance.Participate in financial management through the development and monitoring of departmental budgets and inventory control including planning accuracy (variance to actuals) – FACC, Bias, Supply adherence to plan.Develop and report on the financial forecasting for operations, process, equipment, and maintenance problems to ensure budget efficiency and the lowest possible expenditure.Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the end-to-end supply chain function such as Total SC cost management – Freight and Logistics (Demurrage, Chartering, and liner costs).Adhere to and stay abreast of relevant logistics, freight, and vessel legislation, regulations, and policies such as the operational safety guidelines provided by the International Air Traffic Association (IATA), the National Road Traffic Act 93 of 1996, the IMDG (International Maritime Dangerous Goods) Code, and vessel compliance as well as other relevant Dangerous Goods Conveyance and Handling regulations.Adhere to export management requirements, comply with governance and compliance policies and procedures, and the particular Explosives Act of 1956.Maintain compliance with Quality Assurance and ISO 13485 requirements.Provide leadership and direction to the team to drive a high-performance culture.Develop performance contracts for direct subordinates and conduct performance reviews to measure performance against agreed objectives and identify developmental needs.
