Formulate and implement the consolidated supply chain management operational plan, aligned to the roadmap Lead cross-functional teams in the development and implementation of supply chain improvement projects Develop strategic plans to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of operations Oversee all aspects of the warehouse and logistics function, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, shipping, and transportation Ensuring the efficient flow of goods through the warehouse Implement best practices for warehouse management, including organising stock, implementing FIFO system, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations Implement world class warehousing by ensuring adequate and correct infrastructure, processes, and procedures in place Manage the overall supply and demand balance (S&OP process), in multiple categories of logistics, freight and raw materials Oversee and direct the identification of annual procurement needs and the execution thereof during the year in line with the procurement procedures Use sales forecast to prepare the operational strategic plan to address volume and resource requirements and constraints Continuously optimise the inbound and outbound logistics network Introduce and reinforce control measures to manage the implementation of accurate and timeous Receiving Practices.
Spot-check deliveries received, monitor the recording of shortages and overs, and investigate discrepancies Oversee the requisitioning and distribution of procured goods, ensuring compliance to standards, policies, and procedures Negotiate and conclude contracts for inbound and outbound logistics Review and implement lean supply chain principles to improve the cost, quality, and delivery products Develop and implement logistics service systems, policies, and procedures Lead, define and communicate operation execution metrics and standards Lead and manage logistics for all shipment modes (sea, road & air freight) Develop and track Supply Chain budget Identify strategic suppliers and partners for solutions, products, and services and oversee and direct the creation and maintenance of the supplier database Develop a negotiation and contracting strategy that delivers against organisational objectives and achieves sustainable relationships with suppliers Drive the company acquisitioning process, including requisitioning, tendering, and quoting processes strictly according to the National Treasury Legislation and regulatory framework Oversee the management of supplier relationships by identifying, evaluating, and selecting new suppliers, reviewing contracts, and building strong relationships with existing suppliers Negotiate contracts with suppliers to ensure that AECI receives the best possible value for its expenditure Ensure compliance by ensuring that all logistics and warehousing activities are conducted in a compliant and ethical manner, adhering to all relevant regulations and policies
