The community you'll be caring for: AdventHealth North Pinellas
The role you'll contribute:
Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining respectful relationships.
Primary responsibility includes the provision of medication distribution functions and pharmacy operational tasks, which include assisting the pharmacist with all duties of preparing and dispensing medications, inventory management, and regulatory compliance.
Performs duties necessary for the effective daily operation of all department services and programs.
Accurately responds to medication dispensing requests, prepares medications for pharmacist final review/check, delivers checked medications, and returns unused or expired medications to appropriate pharmacy areas.
The value you'll bring to the team:
Actively performs all pharmacy technician functions and maintains proficiency in standard work parameters, hospital and pharmacy-specific computer systems, and operational programs.
Participates in the appropriate utilization of medication automation, technology, and computer systems.
Maintains expertise in the electronic health record system and accurately interprets electronic records as needed.
Accurately completes medication inventories and prepares and dispenses patient-specific medication doses, preventing improper drug, dose, dosage form selection, expiration dating, and barcode scanning issues when checking products.
Performs oral and injectable compounding, if applicable.
Carries out special projects or assignments as directed by supervisor or manager.
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
One year of hospital pharmacy experience (retail or ambulatory experience acceptable for medication history function in lieu of hospital experience).
