DescriptionEmployment opportunity is available for a Pharmacy Manager reporting to the Hospital Manager. The successful candidate will ensure that the quality pharmaceutical services, financial objectives, legislative compliance and people management requirements are achieved to the required standards.
Critical OutputsEffective medication safety management
Report 100% of medication incidents and develop and implement remedial actions as appropriate.
Report 100% of pharmacy alerts and develop and implement remedial action and complete a trends analysis quarterly.Effective quality management systems
Ensure compliance with SAPC, DOH and professional standards.
Participate in achieving required customer service levels in theatre and wards.
Implement customer satisfaction and pharmacy quality initiatives.
Participate in achieving hospital budgeted financial measures relating to pharmacy.Effective product management
Participate in the active management of cost of sales of pharmaceuticals in line with revenue and budget.
Build effective working relationships with doctors.Effective asset management
Participate in achieving stock targets.
Participate in Pharmacist Intern and Pharmacist Assistant programmes as appropriate.RequirementsB.Pharm / Dip.Pharm / B.Sc PharmRelevant clinical knowledge and experience to the critical outputsCurrent registration with South African Pharmacy CouncilUnderstanding of pharmacy and related healthcare industry, legislation, regulation and challengesKnowledge of pharmaceutical legislationPharmaceutical product knowledgeComputer proficiency (MS office)Minimum of 5 years' experience as a pharmacist. 3 years' experience within a private Hospital is essential.Responsible pharmacist experience or previous pharmaceutical managerial role would be an added advantage.SkillsCollaboration/ Relationship BuildingAnalytical thinkingProblem-solving, analysis and judgementResilienceVerbal & written communication and presentation skillsNegotiationStrategic agilityPlanningProject managementOrganisational awarenessExcellence and quality orientationEthical behaviourTechnical and professional knowledgeChange agentCoachingDecision makingDelegationOrganisingQuantitative analysisDepartmentsPharmacyRondebosch Medical Centre is an equal opportunity employer, external candidates will also be considered.
