KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS Lead and manage the people in the department. Manage pharmaceutical stock (own, loan and consignment). Manage and mitigate departmental risks. Manage and control departmental budgets/finances. Deliver a safe and efficient pharmaceutical service. Provide an out-patient pharmacy service. REQUIRED EDUCATION ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: B Pharm / BSc Pharm. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 3 years working as a pharmacist in a community or institutional/hospital pharmacy. DESIRED EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years supervisory or managerial experience in an institutional/hospital pharmacy. REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Risk management processes and procedures. Pharmacy and related healthcare industry. Financial management. Ethical and surgical product knowledge. Relevant Pharmacy legislation (e.g. Pharmacy Act; Good pharmacy practice; Medicine Control Act 101 of 1965). Medical Aid Scheme benefits; regulations and formularies. Clinical pharmacy and antimicrobial stewardship. Pharmacy stock management.
