Minimum Requirements:Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm)Registration with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) as a PharmacistHSP certificate Current Professional Malpractice Insurance (MPS)2 to 3 years experience working as a Pharmacist post community service2 to 4 years previous Clinical Trial experience (advantageous)Knowledge of Pharmacy Act no.
53 of 1974, Medicines and related substances Act, 1965 (Act no.
101 of 1965), International Conference on Harmonisation (ICH) Guidelines and Good Pharmacy Practice GuidelinesValid Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certificationAdvanced computer skills including using Microsoft Office, internet browsers and medical databases.Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsExceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skillsAble to work autonomously Responsibilities include (but not limited to):To prepare and maintain all essential study- and participant-related and pharmacy documents required to individually and collectively permit evaluation of the conduct of a study and the quality of the data produced, as well as maintenance of all essential regulatory documents in the study-specific pharmacy binders.Ensure the pharmacy is run according to South African pharmacy and research ethical standards.Maintain Pharmacy technical appliances including maintenance of all pharmacy equipment and calibration of all required temperature monitoring devicesEnsure that equipment is calibrated on an annual basis Equipment Maintenance (ensure calibration of temperature monitoring devices is in place, etc.
).Investigational Product (IP) ManagementDispense IP as per pharmacy regulations and according to study requirementsAssist with financial administrative tasks as required (e.g.
prepare drug invoices sourced study medication reimbursements from sponsors; ensure drug cost is allocated to correct sponsor; follow up on payments; apply for vat exemption, if required.
)Record Management review and file all documents in the pharmacy binders.
Maintain records of Investigational Product (IP) receipt at the site, IP dispensed to participants and IP returned to Sponsor/Contract Research Organisation (CRO) or destroyed at site (if allowed).Additional Information:20-40 hours per week, Monday to Friday12-month fixed term contractPosition will be based in Mowbray, Cape TownOnly shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
