The position reports into the Pharmacy Manager Job Purpose: To provide customer service and dispensing support to the Pharmacy, in line with scope of practice, under the supervision of the Pharmacist in order to ensure efficient pharmacy operations. Job Objectives: To assess, capture, prepare and pack prescriptions in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), Good Pharmacy Practice (GPP) principles and customer service standards.To advise customers on the appropriate use of medicine and promote cost effective options to patientsTo provide professional service and accurate information to customers, in line with scope of practice.To provide professional and accurate information on generics/alternate medicationTo order medicine and scheduled substances up to Schedule 6, according to an instruction of the pharmacist on duty.To maintain stock levels and check expiry dates according to SOP's.To adhere to ethical, legislative and regulatory requirements of the SAPC Education and Experience Requirements: Essential: Further Education and Training Certificate Pharmacist Assistance (Community)Essential: Registration with SAPCEssential: 1 year experience as a Pharmacist AssistantEssential: Competent in dispensing patient prescriptions within scope of practiceDesirable: Experience in a retail pharmacy Job Knowledge and Skills Required: Pharmaceutical legislation and regulatory requirements Pharmacy efficiency principles or equivalent Basic understanding of medical aid regulationsCustomer and service orientatedFollowing Instructions and ProceduresRelating and NetworkingDelivering Results and Meeting Customer ExpectationsAdhering to Principles and ValuesPresenting and Communicating InformationPlanning and OrganisingCoping with Pressures and SetbacksDo you require help with the registration process?
