The Role The Performance Marketing Manager is responsible for leading and managing all performance marketing efforts to drive customer acquisition, engagement, and retention. The role involves overseeing both internal performance marketing initiatives and external agencies, ensuring campaigns are optimized across all digital channels, delivering against KPIs, and achieving our growth targets.
This position will be pivotal in developing and executing strategies that maximize return on investment from paid media.
What you'll do Performance Marketing Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive performance marketing strategy across all digital channels to support business growth and customer acquisition goals. Agency Management: Oversee performance marketing agency partners, ensuring their efforts align with business objectives and deliver optimal results. Act as the primary point of contact for all agency activities, including budget allocation, performance analysis, and campaign optimization. Campaign Ownership: Lead and execute all in-house performance marketing campaigns ensuring alignment with business objectives and ROI targets. Budget Management: Manage the performance marketing budget, allocating spend across channels effectively to maximize ROI and achieve business KPIs. Data-Driven Insights: Leverage data and analytics to track and measure the effectiveness of all performance marketing activities, using insights to make data-driven decisions that optimize campaigns. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other teams (brand, product, content, customer service, etc.) to ensure consistency and alignment between performance marketing and other business activities. KPI Setting & Tracking: Set clear performance goals and KPIs for all campaigns, regularly tracking and reporting on their progress, and adjusting strategies to meet targets. Market and Competitor Analysis: Conduct regular analysis of market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation within the performance marketing space. Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with key internal stakeholders, including the Head of Marketing and senior leadership, to communicate performance marketing strategies, results, and insights. What you need: Knowledge of Sports Betting and Online Casino: Understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within the betting and gaming industry, particularly in the South African market. (Preferred) Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Business, or a related field. A master's degree would be advantageous. Minimum of 6 years of experience in performance marketing, with at least 3 years in a senior position managing large-scale digital marketing campaigns. Extreme proficiency with performance marketing tools such as Google Analytics, Google Ads, Facebook Ads Manager, and others. Proven track record of working with performance marketing agencies and managing significant media budgets. Analytical Skills: Strong ability to interpret data, optimize campaigns, and report performance. Budget Management: Expertise in managing and optimizing large marketing budgets for maximum ROI. Strategic Mindset: Ability to align performance marketing strategies with business goals and drive measurable results. Leadership: Experience leading teams and fostering a collaborative, results-driven work environment.
