Title: Vice President, Total Rewards
Location: Flexible (near one of the 23+ campus locations)
Position Overview: The Vice President of Total Rewards will lead the design and implementation of equitable and competitive programs to align with Per Scholas' mission and strategic goals. This role will report to the Chief People Officer (CPO) and manage the organization's wellness initiatives, compensation management, analysis, administration, rewards, and benefits strategy and administration. In alignment with the organizational people strategy, the VP of Compensation & Benefits will ensure the organization remains competitive in attracting and retaining top talent to drive organizational results in an environment of professional development, psychological safety, wellness & equity.
Key Responsibilities: Lead the strategy, design, and implementation of compensation, benefits and wellness programs, ensuring they are equitable, competitive, and aligned with the organization's mission to drive strategic operational outcomes.Manage and perform compensation analysis and job evaluation to ensure equity.Design wellness initiatives and programs that prioritize the well-being of employees and support their physical, emotional, and mental health.Collaborate with the Chief People Officer to align compensation, benefits and wellness strategies with the organization's financial goals and workforce needs.Ensure compliance with all relevant employment and benefits laws and regulations, including the California pay transparency regulations and others relevant to Per Scholas' national presence.Manage relationships with external compensation, benefits and wellness providers, ensuring the cost-effectiveness and competitiveness of equitable offerings.Manage related communication and education initiatives to ensure employees fully understand their options and are empowered with available offerings.Work closely with DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging) teams to ensure compensation, benefits and wellness programs support a diverse workforce and promote equity and inclusion.Maintain awareness of related industry trends and employment laws to ensure relevance, competitiveness and compliance.Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in compensation and benefits management, with proven leadership in developing equitable pay structures.Strong knowledge of benefits administration, wellness programs, and compensation management and analysis.Experience with compensation benchmarking and job evaluation processes.Demonstrated ability to implement wellness initiatives with measurable results.Familiarity with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, particularly those related to compensation, benefits, and workplace wellness programs.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail.Proven leadership skills and experience managing and developing a high-performing team.For this role specifically, we target $125,000 with a salary range of $115,000 - $125,000. The salary difference is typically determined by several factors, including the selected candidate's geography and alignment with qualifications and experience.
