The role of People Specialist is a critical role within the Human Capital Function. This role partners with the Centre and the TH business to develop, promote and implement appropriate best practice Human Capital initiatives and systems that work to address current as well as future business needs. Purpose of the Role The incumbent will take overall responsibility for Business Partnering for the operation. They will be the trusted advisor to line managers and employees for all people processes within the employment lifecycle. Working with line managers the people specialist will ensure that people management supports the delivery of operational requirements and business plans. Support the implementation of key people and training initiatives for their operation. Lead the implementation and quality of Success Management in their operation. Work with the Capability and Talent Specialist and People Business Partner to implement the Talent Management way, and complete the annual talent assessments and people balance sheets for their operation. Accountable for all recruitment for Bands A DU for their operation. Collaborates with the Capability and Talent specialist for the recruitment of Bands DU and above. Is the owner of the operations employee master data ensuring completion, accuracy and quality. Critical to talent management is employee engagement. The People Specialist will build a fit-for-purpose engagement plan for their operation with the operational line management team to address gaps in engagement and to ensure that our THL Employee Value Proposition promise is delivered and the employee experience is enhanced Key Responsibilities Human Capital Operations & People Management Recruitment & Selection Termination Process Employment Equity/ Diversity Management and Culture Clubs Champion Capability and Talent Initiatives for the Centre (Talent Management, Training & Development and Change Management Champion Success Management for the Centre Manage Employee Relations at the Centre Relationship Management Qualifications & Competencies Tertiary Qualification in Human Resources management, labour Relations or Industrial Psychology or equivalent, Bachelors degree or BTech preferable. 5 or more years experience as an HR Generalist and/or management role at a large enterprise or relevant experience. Computer skills/literacy. A valid drivers license Strong Employee Relations background. Expert knowledge of applicable labour laws in South Africa. Self-motivated and independent individual. High ethical values and professional maturity. Strong, confident, and assertive team player. Ability to influence and motivate others. Capable of making decisions under pressure and taking initiative Excellent planning, and organizing skills and detail-orientated. Service and customer-oriented approach & deadline driven.
