QuickBooks Payroll Tax Consultant Job Summary : We are seeking an experienced QuickBooks Payroll Tax Consultant to assist with managing and optimizing payroll processes, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and leveraging QuickBooks for efficient payroll operations.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll tax management, QuickBooks expertise, and experience providing payroll tax consulting services to businesses of varying sizes.
Key Responsibilities : Payroll Management : Process payroll for clients using QuickBooks, ensuring accuracy in wages, overtime, deductions, and bonuses.
Tax Compliance : Ensure payroll tax calculations adhere to federal, state, and local tax regulations, and manage payroll tax payments and filings.
QuickBooks Expertise : Provide expertise in setting up and using QuickBooks payroll features, optimizing workflow efficiency, and troubleshooting issues within the software.
Tax Filings : Prepare and file federal, state, and local payroll tax returns (e.g., 941s, W-2s, and 1099s) in accordance with applicable deadlines.
Consultation and Support : Advise clients on best practices for payroll and tax compliance, keeping them informed of changing tax regulations.
Year-End Reporting : Assist clients with year-end tax filings and reconciliations, including preparing W-2s and 1099s.
Client Training : Provide training and support to clients on the effective use of QuickBooks for payroll processing, reporting, and tax compliance.
Problem Resolution : Resolve any discrepancies or issues related to payroll, tax filings, or QuickBooks payroll functions.
Documentation and Recordkeeping : Maintain accurate payroll tax records, reports, and documentation in compliance with company policies and government regulations.
Qualifications : Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation (a plus).
Proven experience in payroll processing and tax compliance, with a focus on QuickBooks Payroll.
Strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop, including payroll features.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong communication skills and the ability to provide clear, concise guidance to clients.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience : 3+ years of experience in payroll processing, preferably as a consultant or within an accounting firm.
Experience with multi-state payroll tax compliance.
Knowledge of payroll tax systems and experience with electronic tax filing.
