Payroll Manager

Our mining client is looking to hire a Payroll Manager, based in Limpopo The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for the management planning and execution of payroll processes and systems to ensure payroll processing and reporting occurs in an accurate and timely manner
The position reports to the Finance Operations Manager
Duties and Responsibilities: Manage and control the payroll functions of the companyImplement and oversee the company's remuneration and related policiesEnsure that payroll complies with all statutory regulations, company policies and management instructionsVerification of all payroll information for accuracy and completenessIdentify risks and implement actions to mitigate / eliminate all risksEffective resolutions and coordination of issues and incidents with action plans quality controls in placeGenerate and follow-up on monthly / quarterly reports as required by Line ManagementEnsure monthly balancing of salary reconciliations and accurate submission of month end reporting to FinanceMaintain employee files through efficient record keeping and filingComply with all Governance requirementsInvestigate and close any escalated issues stemming from subordinates and escalate any issues to relevant stakeholdersGenerates and post General Journals, Reconcile Payroll 3 rd Party Payments with the reportsResponsible for accurate month end procedurePrepare Ad hoc reports from payroll information as required by the businessEducation and Experience: Relevant Degree / Diploma or equivalentMinimum 5 – 8 years payroll experience at a senior levelPayroll experience within the Mining sector essentialThorough knowledge of the VIP Payroll systemCurrent and sounds knowledge of tax legislation applicable to remuneration practices
