We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Payroll Manager to join our team in Westville, Durban .
This is a pivotal role within the company, requiring extensive payroll expertise combined with a solid financial or accounting background.
The position manages a complex payroll environment, including invoicing wage costs to multiple clients, aligned with their Service Level Agreements (SLA's) and rate schedules.
Our operations span diverse labour jurisdictions, including compliance with the Basic Conditions of Employment Act, National Minimum Wage, Road Freight Bargaining Council, Motor Industries Bargaining Council, Metal Engineering Bargaining Council, and various Sectoral Determinations.
Location: Westville, Durban.
Requirements : Extensive knowledge of payroll process and statutory requirements managing payrolls across multiple labour jurisdictions, preferably within the Temporary Employment Service Industry Strong financial or accounting background with an understanding of gross profit margins.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to create a positive team environment and drive performance.
Detail-orientated with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Exceptional organisational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

Key Responsibilities To abide by the MASA DNA values which is the formula for success Payroll Management : Responsible and accountable for the smooth running of the payroll department to the required deadlines and standards within agreed budgetary limits and parameters of the law, particularly the Labour Law and SARS requirements.
Financial Oversight : Monthly analysis of gross profit margins across all clients and investigate and explain any variances to the Financial Manager, Compliance: Ensure adherence to statutory payroll requirements, minimum wage laws, and Bargaining Council agreements, including completing and submitting returns.
Rate Schedules and SLAs: Check and capture client rate schedules for accuracy and ensure they are compliant with relevant industry sector, inclusive of accrual for all relevant benefits, mitigating risks.
Process Improvement: Develop, update, and enhance SOPs, and lead initiatives to improve systems and processes for quality, speed, and cost efficiency.
Audits : Manage internal and external audit responsibilities related to payroll.
Team Leadership: Drive team performance through KPIs, appraisals, skills development, and succession planning.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with managers and clients across the organisation ensuring efficient service delivery.
Operational Coordination: Plan and manage payroll systems, year-end payments, and associated costing functions.
