A Three Month Fixed Term Contract is available for a Salaries Controller to provide our Client with a professional payroll administrative function in a timeous, detail-orientated and accurate manner. This includes but is not limited to supporting the end-to-end payroll function, the resolution of payroll queries and the provision of payroll related information and reports.Responsibilities:Salaries - processing salaries for the company for various staff categories, permanent, fixed term and contractorsLeave through ESS system - managing the entire leave process - processing, monitoring and reportingLoading of staff expense claims EFT paymentsLoading EFT file for net salary paymentsMaintain system database - load new employees, update records, process terminations and transfers and any other changesPrinting payslips and dealing with payroll queriesProcessing yearly increases and bonusesSubmitting monthly statutory returns (e.g. UIF, EMP 201, SDL)Preparation, submission and payment of annual EMP 501s, IRP5s, COID, etc.Prepare and timeously submit month end payroll reportsPrepare submit reports / schedules for third party payments and ensure they are processed and paid over timeouslyMonthly reports as required by managementAdminister and accurately process statutory deductions and employee benefits while ensuring all HR policies and labour legislation are adhered toLiaison with retirement fund and medical aid administratorsBookkeeping: Prepare monthly journalsReconciliation of salaries-related general ledger accountsAssist with annual salaries forecast and budgetAssist with preparation of documents related to benefits administrationProvide first-line support for payroll queries and allocate accordingly among the payroll team and where necessary, the HR teamAny other ad hoc duties as required by management including but not limited to functional projectsRequirements:MatricPayroll and/or Human Resources DiplomaA Financial Tertiary qualification will be advantageousA minimum of 5 years' experience in end-to-end payroll administration is essentialAt least 3 years' experience in benefits administrationAt least 5 years' experience working with SAGE People 300 payroll and ESS, is essentialA minimum of 2 years' experience working with VIP Premier is advantageousFinance/accounting knowledge and experience is beneficialWorking knowledge of employee tax legislationA solid understanding of payroll practices, policies and proceduresThe Ideal Applicant Will Satisfy The Following Skills Requirements:A high degree of confidentiality, emotional maturity, ethical values, and integrityMust have a high stress tolerance and the ability to work efficiently under pressureStrong verbal and written communication with the ability to communicate with all levels of authorityPrecise planning and excellent organisational/administration skillsExceptional accuracy and strong attention to detailStrong numeracy skillsQuality orientated and self-driven to achieve resultsDesired Skills:Stress toleranceConfidentialityPayrollSAGE People 300ESSPayroll AdministrationBenefits AdministrationEmployee Tax legislationVIP PremierStatutory returnsDesired Work Experience:5 to 10 years Payroll & WagesDesired Qualification Level:DiplomaAbout The Employer: Retail company
