The position is responsible for the administration of all personnel data in the payroll system and preparation of payrolls.
This includes processing of payroll related taxes to ensure compliance with local laws, regulations as well as contractual client obligations.
Diploma in Business Administration (ideally with a focus on Human Resources) or equivalent qualificationUniversity degree (Preferable not compulsory)A minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience in the area Administration and PayrollExperience with employee relations and Performance Management SystemsPrepare the payroll including Hours worked and benefit deductions from time sheets and other records.Transmit payroll data to finance systems and issue payment files.Record changes affecting net wages such as exemptions and tax directives.Prepare reports of earnings, taxes and deductions.Ensure changes registered in HR Operational systems are reflected in finance systems e.g.
new hires and terminations.Update the payment instruments and carry out the Compensation Benefits tasks.Ensure time, expenses and benefits are accurately captured.Ensures the accuracy of all data related to payroll tax on the system is in compliance to tax regulations and legislation.Resolve payroll tax related issues.Ensure all tax payments, fillings and reconciliations are completed in a timely manner.Conduct third party payroll tax audits (External/ Internal/ SARS).Escalate potential payroll issues.Participate in periodic reviews of all payrolls to ensure compliance.Participate in payroll tax audits.Technical Practical experience in PayrollAbility to work on proactively and meet deadlines and targetsSolid knowledge of HR policies, HR procedures and labour lawsKnowledge of Tax legislation
