Role Overview
The Payroll and Talent Reporting Analyst plays a key role in overseeing all aspects of the payroll process and ensuring accurate employee reporting.
In this role, you will need to have a comprehensive understanding of payroll systems and processes as well as accounting principles to assist in enhancing current payroll and HR / Talent reporting processes.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Payroll analysis and oversight

Oversee all aspects of the payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely payment of employee salaries, and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Perform a critical review function.
Collaborate with the Payroll Administrator, Talent, and Finance teams to maintain accurate employee data, ensuring all payroll-related processes and records are updated and reconciled monthly.
Monthly reconciliation between payroll records and finance accounting records.
Produce a monthly analysis of payroll movements which feeds into the management accounts.
Oversight of payroll records, reports, and documentation for auditing and legal purposes.
Act as the key point of contact for payroll audit.
Responsible for workmen's compensation regulatory requirements.
Partner with the Head of Centralised Services to ensure robust internal controls related to payroll and reporting.
Stay up to date with changes in payroll laws and regulations, assessing their impact on the company's payroll practices and implementing necessary adjustments to ensure compliance.
HR/Talent Reporting

Produce accurate and high-quality monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc reports on various employee data, including employee lists, headcount/staff movements, staff demographics, and hierarchy levels critical for regulatory and Board reporting.
Enhance reporting tools and assist the Head of Centralised Services and Head of Talent in building a digitized employee reporting function, specifically developing people dashboards and reporting.
Develop a robust skills (study/membership) process to ensure accurate reporting and reconciliation.
Assist the Talent team with special projects and work as may be assigned.
Other

Manage all relevant vendor relationships (e.g., Medical Aid, Group risk Benefits) to ensure efficient service delivery.
Support the Head of Centralised Services with the annual salary review preparation process and other ad-hoc projects.
Perform the function of Section 24 Employment Equity Manager.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

Four years relevant experience in a related role where you have worked with Payroll and HRIS systems and employee reporting.
Exposure to SAGE People, Acumatica/related system is a distinct advantage.
Comprehensive understanding of payroll systems and processes as well as accounting principles required.
Systems-oriented with a keen interest in automation and digitization of the Payroll and HR Reporting environment.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

CA (SA) / CIMA preferred.
An Accounting post-graduate degree is a minimum requirement.
