Job Description
Premier FMCG is seeking a meticulous and driven Payroll Administrator to join our Corporate Finance team. This role is crucial in ensuring the accurate, compliant, and timely administration of payroll operations. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to improving payroll systems and providing expert support to internal customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Process Payroll Accurately: Ensure all employee data is accurately captured, verify time and attendance system integration, check earnings and deductions, run payroll cycles on schedule, and audit payroll data regularly to correct discrepancies.
Maintain Compliance: Stay updated with labour laws and income tax regulations, ensure accurate calculation of statutory deductions, and submit required reports to regulatory bodies on time.
Provide Payroll Support: Respond to inquiries regarding payroll promptly, communicate changes in payroll processes or policies clearly, and offer necessary education on payroll-related topics.
Maintain Records and Generate Reports: Document all payroll transactions, securely store records, generate accurate payroll reports for management and stakeholders, and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
Enhance Processes and Systems: Identify areas for improvement, propose solutions, assist in implementing new payroll processes or systems, and collaborate with the payroll team and other departments to improve efficiency.
Reconcile Third-Party Payments: Ensure timely and accurate payments to third parties by reconciling schedules with the general ledger and Nutun payment file.
Qualification Requirements
Grade 12 or equivalent
Diploma or relevant qualification in Payroll Administration, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field
Certified Payroll Professional (SAPA) – Desirable
Experience Requirements
3-5 years of experience in payroll administration
Proven experience with payroll systems
Familiarity with South African payroll legislation (1-2 years)

Technical Knowledge:
Understanding of income tax, UIF, SDL, and other statutory payroll requirements
Skills:
Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., Sage, PaySpace)
Strong numerical and analytical skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll reporting tools
