Shared Services concern based on the East Rand, has an exciting opportunity for a well-experienced Senior Payroll Accountant to apply accounting controls around the payroll processes for the Company's complex payroll.
The successful incumbent will be required to provide support to the Payroll Department, ensure the accuracy of preliminary and final payroll reports as well as compliance with Income Tax Law in complicated payroll and financial situations.
A completed B.Com (Hons) (Accounting or Finance Degree) is essential coupled with a Post-Graduate Qualification in Tax (will be highly advantageous) with a minimum of 5 years working experience in Payroll Tax or Accounting .
Key responsibilities include: reviewing all 3rd party payments and reconciliations to the GL allocation; prepare management reports for BU's including provision reporting; prepare payroll journals; importing of weekly and monthly payroll interface; perform monthly reconciliations of GL accounts; review and testing of provisions; complete reporting on all aspects of payroll information; ensure correct statutory deductions ensuring correct GL allocation and reconciliation; ensure that benefits such as Provident Funds, Pension Funds and Medical Funds are correctly reflected on payrolls and paid over and reconciled; Ensure that all relevant documents and month-end reports are filed accordingly; responsible for comprehensive and integrated reports to the Operations; ensure that external auditing processes successfully executed; prepare data for and endure accurate submissions for EE, ROE (WCA) and State SA reporting; assist with any accounting duties as and when required and perform adhoc duties.
Payroll Tax : advise Payroll Services team of income tax implications; drafting of opinions on income tax consequences of various adhoc queries; assist and advise with complex PAYE and VAT issues; interpretation of PAYE tax legislation; assist with the implementation of payroll transactions; complying with risk management procedures; daily payroll processing including reconciliations / review of salaries, wages and taxes; preparation, review and filing of EMP 201's and EMP 501's and preparation and filing of IRP5's.
Experience on E@syfile, SARS E-filing and any ERP system essential.
