Overview of Job:The Pastry Chef will be required to assist in the Management of the Kitchen Team and ensure that standards are upheld in the Pastry Section at all times, whilst providing a full pastry service for the Kitchen.Specific Job Description:As a Pastry Chef, your role is to assist in the Management and operation of the food production and service within the Kitchen.You will assist in marketing and promoting all food products to help maximize sales and will participate in developing and implementing food promotions, new menus, and systems around the Dessert/Pastry section.You will assist in sales targets, controlling costs, and purchasing stock.You will maintain systems of control, developing and updating standards.You will develop and monitor staff in obtaining the highest standards of service and customer care and will assist in the responsibility for and monitor the training and development of all staff within the Kitchen, specifically the Pastry section.You will ensure all administration procedures are accurately completed and will maintain a high standard of personal presentation and punctuality.Pastry specific:Breads and rolls varietalDessert styles Bistro & Fine DiningWorking with chocolateBaking varietalTarts varietalKnowledge Required:Kitchen Health and safetyQuality control Assist in Customer care Guest facilities and products Stock control and ordering Menu developmentCostingsBreads and making of suchPastries and making of suchCakes and making of suchAttributes:Highly Developed Communication Skills Awareness of management practices and procedures Developing and trainingSelf MotivatedPhysically very fitAbility to work with multi-cultural teamAbility to work shifts Strong attention to detail is of utmost importanceBe creativeSkills in Fine Dining and Bistro fareMulti-tasker Minimum 3 years Strong Pastry positions held in a reputable 4 or 5-star environmentBenefits for staff member:Part of Management TeamSingle Live Accommodation is made up of a room with a kitchenette counter, bedroom, and bathroom en suite.Uniforms provided by the company, Staff are to provide their stockings, shoes, and belts as per requirements.Working Week:Part of the Management Team in the Kitchen6 days off every 4 weeks / taken each week not accumulated18 days annual leave per annum
