OUR CLIENT: Our client offers an exceptional culinary experience that delights guests with a vibrant, African-influenced feast. With an open-plan kitchen, where guests can witness the artistry of food preparation, the restaurant combines bold flavors and rich aromas to create an immersive dining experience.
THE ROLE: As the Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for creating and delivering high-quality desserts, pastries, and baked goods that enhance the guest dining experience. You will work closely with the Executive Chef and kitchen team to craft visually stunning and delicious desserts, ensuring consistent standards in flavor, presentation, and texture.
WHAT'S IN A DAY'S WORK?

Develop and execute a variety of pastry dishes, including desserts, breads, and baked goods
Ensure the presentation and taste of all pastry items meet high-quality standards
Collaborate with the kitchen team on menu planning and special events
Oversee daily pastry production, ensuring consistency and attention to detail
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry kitchen and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
Manage stock levels for pastry ingredients, including ordering and inventory control
Train and mentor junior pastry chefs and bakers
Stay updated on pastry trends and incorporate them into the menu offerings

REQUIREMENTS:

Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or Senior Pastry Cook in a high-end restaurant or hotel
Culinary qualification in pastry or baking from a recognized institution
Strong creative skills with the ability to craft visually appealing and delicious desserts
Excellent knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Effective time management and organizational skills
A passion for pastry arts and keeping up with industry trends
