We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual to join our client as a Pastoral Support Assistant. A background in supporting vulnerable young people is strongly desired, with an awareness of the social issues students face and how that impacts their school journey, but most importantly, how to effectively overcome them.
As their Pastoral Support Assistant, you will work with each student, supporting them with their behavioural challenges, and working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to implement action plans that will support their welfare.
You will work between their internal exclusion unit and running specific interventions to promote their mental health and wellbeing needs, as well as addressing their issues around emotional regulation.
At points, you will need to liaise with services such as the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service and Social Services, and be the first line of support for safeguarding issues.
For those students who have been excluded or referred to ARP/PRUs, you will work with them to support their re-integration back into school.
This Pastoral Support Assistant role requires someone who is incredibly calm, patient, and compassionate, as well as having the confidence to deal with their most challenging and vulnerable pupils.
