A vacancy exists for a part-time (30 hours per week) Hospital HR Manager (small) based at Life West Coast Private Hospital, reporting to the Hospital Manager, Kobus van Wyk.The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering on the Group and Regional HR strategy in the hospital and for optimizing employee commitment, productivity, and capability to support the achievement of quality patient care and business efficiency. This will be done with and through the line by providing sound people management leadership, planning, policy/legislative interpretation, communication, developing sound relationships, and change capability in line with Life Healthcare strategic objectives.Critical OutputsHR Leadership in the HospitalEnsure Hospital HR plan is aligned to Group HR strategyVisible HR leadership and partnership in the hospitalLeadership influence, responsiveness, and credibilityEnsure HR best practices (including an effective line manager delivery model and effective change management)Analysing trends, metrics, understand issues and develop solutionsResourcing and Talent ManagementAgree hospital resourcing needs and implement strategies to attract, retain and develop employees (includes transformation, flexible staffing)Effective training, development, talent, and succession processes (including skills/WSP)Coach, guide and mentor managers and supervisors on HR / people managementPartner with the line to ensure effective recruitment and sound processesEffective induction and on-boarding of employeesAnalysing trends, metrics, understand issues and develop solutionsTransformationProviding effective guidance through influencing and the promotion of diversityWith the line, ensure effective Employment Equity/BBEEE planning, execution and legal compliance (including target setting and achievement)Analysing trends, metrics, understand issues and develop solutionsEffective Employee RelationsEnsuring engagement and communication structures are effectively managed with and through the line e.g., consultative forum, union representativesProviding support, counsel, and risk mitigation advice to Manco, line managers, and employeesTraining all line managers / business partners on IR best practices and ensuring same are complied withWith line, effectively manage day-to-day ER / IR e.g. CCMA, wage negotiationsAnalysing trends, metrics, understand issues and develop solutionsEmployee Engagement and EnablementEnsuring effective leadership engagement and enablement in the hospital to enhance the company EVP (including survey actions, reward & recognition, culture)Ensuring employee productivity in the business (including performance and absence management)Ensuring an effective and integrated employee wellness programmeAnalysing trends, metrics, understand issues and develop solutionsHR Best Practices, Compliance and Risk MitigationPartnering with line managers to ensure best practices, policy and process compliance, successful HR / legal audits, mitigate HR risksSupport Employee Services by ensuring good administration, accuracy, quality and achievement of deadlines (Kronos and payroll submission deadlines)Analysing trends, metrics, understand issues and develop solutionsHR ProjectsWith the line, effectively drive and implement HR, Functional and Business projectsImplementing effective change management plans for all major projectsPartner with Manco to implement Hospital initiatives e.g., Capex, cost management, retention of key skillsAnalysing trends, metrics, understand issues and develop solutionsRequirementsA minimum of a three-year Degree in Human Resources Management or a relevant HR qualification at NQF level 7Minimum of 3 years HR generalist experience preferredSound knowledge of HR practices and an understanding of SA legislative contextPrevious experience in healthcare environment advantageousComputer proficiency including basic knowledge of payroll systemsValid Driver's license and own car essentialCompetenciesProblem-solving and analysisEngaging diversityVerbal & written communication and presentationInfluencingExcellence orientationBuilding relationshipsCustomer responsivenessOrganisational awarenessLeading by exampleMotivating and developing peopleEmail: ****** date: Friday, August 16, 2024Internal applicants - Before making an application, you are requested to discuss your application with your line manager.
