Job DescriptionA small, dynamic social enterprise is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented part-time Employment Equity Finance Manager to oversee all financial aspects of the business on a remote or hybrid basis. The ideal candidate will have experience managing the accounting, finance, and contracting functions within a small-to medium-sized organisation. Your strong problem-solving skills and ability to multitask will be essential in managing both routine and non-routine tasks efficiently. This is a BEE role preferably to start immediately.Responsibilities:FinanceManage the accounting and finance functions according to operational requirementsIn conjunction with the outsourced accounting firm -Reconcile daily, monthly, and yearly transactionsReview and reconcile creditors' accounts and debtors' accountsExecute the full payroll functionExecute weekly and ad-hoc payments to suppliersManage invoicing of customers and issuing of credit notesProduce accurate monthly financial reports and reports in line with specific deadlinesAnalyse and interpret financial informationManage the external auditAssist with budget preparation and cost managementManage cash flowReview, update and implement financial policies and proceduresEnsure compliance with regulations and guidelines affecting the financeAssist with the preparation of organisational taxesManage the fixed asset lifecycle and the related accounting entriesMonitor business trends and product availability to pay the best price for company goods and services without sacrificing quality or delivery time.Support procurement in nurturing relationships with suppliers to negotiate the best prices and identify and research potential new suppliers.Contracting and operationsDraft, review, send and file various contracts, including consulting contracts, service level agreements and employment contractsEnsure assets are appropriately insured and manage the insurance processBroader engagement and ad-hoc additional tasksServe as a point of contact for other departments on financial and accounting mattersParticipate in team meetings where relevant and twice-yearly strategy sessions and assist as appropriate with ad-hoc tasks arising from these discussionsEnsure work is carried out per the company and internal processesSupport the team in the overall delivery of the company strategyRequirementsMust have a Degree in Accounting with a solid knowledge of IFRS, accounting principles and practicesRegistration with a professional body would be advantageous (e.g. SAIPA).Someone curious about and comfortable with technology, with excellent Google Sheets / Excel knowledge. Experience with Xero, Dext, ApprovalMax and/or Simplepay is advantageousApplications are open to EE candidatesExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong attention to detail and the ability to multitaskSelf-starter who can plan, organise and take initiative to meet objectives and deadlines independentlyAble to adapt to changing parametersAn excellent communicator who enjoys engaging comfortably and respectfully with diverse stakeholdersA team player who is reliable, punctual and open to giving and receiving feedbackMust be fluent in English.
