St.
George Transportation Services is part of Spaces and Experiences, which is a division of University Operations and Real Estate Partnerships.
The department operates 38 surface lots and 12 underground garages, providing 2,560 parking spaces for faculty, staff, students, and visitors.
Additionally there are two Level 2 electric vehicle charging stations at both the BCIT and Rotman garages, and forty-eight spots at the new Landmark garage.
The mission of Transportation Services is to provide effective parking services to the University community.
Transportation Services is both responsible for the administration and enforcement of all parking.
As such, this position requires routinely liaising with other departments and individuals, both members of the University community as well as the general public, to assist with their parking needs.
Your opportunity:
Working in Transportation Services provides the incumbent with the opportunity to work in a small, cohesive team.
While each team member has dedicated responsibilities, colleagues work together closely on a daily basis to bring projects to fruition.
As a result, all members engage in a wide variety of responsibilities, which ensures no two days are the same.
Reporting to the Financial & Administrative Assistant and Business Officer of Transportation Services, the incumbent will assist with the daily oversight and processing of online permit purchases, provide prompt and responsive customer service, maintain information in databases and digital platforms, as well as trouble shoot and resolve technical issues with our online sales platform.
Your responsibilities will include: Responding to enquiries within the defined scope of the role and redirecting as appropriateCollecting and filing parking requests and applicationsVerifying the accuracy and completeness of sales records and depositsApplying established standards when issuing parking permitsCreating and managing parking events within the internal systemGenerating standard financial reports, including preparing deposit reports, journal entries and invoices and uploading to FIS.Maintaining information on digital platformsEssential Qualifications: College Diploma (2 years) or acceptable combination of equivalent education and experience.Minimum two (2) years experience with front line customer service and salesDemonstrated experience maintaining information on digital platformsExperience generating standard financial reports, including preparing deposit reports, journal entries and invoicesIntermediate proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (particularly in Word, Excel, and Outlook), along with SAPExcellent organizational, multi-tasking and time-management skills, and the ability to appropriately prioritize tasksSkilled in handling multiple tasks simultaneously, while maintaining meticulous attention to detailAn excellent communicator and able to demonstrate exceptional interpersonal and communications skills (verbal and written) Assets (Nonessential): Experience with database managementExperience using a point of sale (POS) machine To be successful in this role you will be: AccountableMotivated self-learnerMulti-taskerOrganizedClosing Date: 01/17/2025, 11:59PM ET
