Job Summary:
The Paralegal will assist the Director and attorneys in managing high court litigation matters, particularly focusing on court processes, document management, and compliance with Court Online and Caselines directives. The ideal candidate should have substantial experience in high court litigation, including electronic court filing and case management systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation and management of high court litigation matters.
File documents and manage cases on Caselines and Court Online platforms, ensuring full compliance with directives.
Draft and proofread pleadings, affidavits, and other legal documents for high court matters.
Manage and organise client files, including electronic document storage.
Liaise with clients, counsel, and court officials.
Conduct legal research and assist in case strategy development.
Monitor case schedules, deadlines, and prepare documents for submission to court.
Attend to administrative duties such as diary management, coordinating meetings, and minute-taking for litigation-related matters.
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive legal matters.
Qualifications and Experience:
Suitable legal qualification.
Minimum of 7 - 10 years' experience in high court litigation.
Proven experience with Caselines and Court Online platforms.
Strong understanding of court rules and procedures.
Experience in drafting and preparing legal documents for high court matters.
Skills and Competencies:
Excellent organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proficient in legal research and document drafting.
Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and manage deadlines.
Proficient in MS Office and legal research platforms.
Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced legal environment.
