The successful incumbent will be responsible for the high-speed packaging machinery and will be reporting directly to the Maintenance Foreman.Job Specification:Key Performance Areas:Maintain and support plant high-speed packaging line(s).Safely complete all emergency work, routine checks, and preventative maintenance.Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical equipment problems.Partner with operations, engineering, safety and quality to ensure compatibility of equipment with production needs.Evaluate production line processes and help identify opportunities for improvement.Maintain reliable and safe manufacturing systems while improving production rates, efficiencies, yields, costs, and changeovers.Improve process capability and production volume while maintaining and improving quality standards.Optimize overall equipment effectiveness by improving reliability and availability while minimizing quality defects of the production processes.Maintain and optimize critical spare parts inventory.Work with contractors to perform required calibrations and validations as assigned.Ensure structure is secure and maintained per quality standardsWork with the broader maintenance team to complete more complicated tasks.Minimum Requirements:Experience:At least 8 years experience as a technician in high-speed packaging machines and plant equipment maintenance and repairs required within a FMCG environment.Qualifications:Matric / Grade 12Trade tested as artisan (Fitter or Millwright) at an accredited training facilityCompleted Mechanical / Electrical Engineering qualification or minimum N4 qualificationAdditional Requirements:Occupational Health and Safety RegulationsPneumatic and Electro-Pneumatic systemsPLC programming and VSD set-up knowledge is advantageous Knowledge of QMS, HACCP and GMP's is an advantageCompetencies:Working TogetherThinking AnalyticallyMaintaining ProductivityMinimising RiskStaying ComposedArticulating InformationEmbracing ChangeAttention to detailWe are committed to the growth of internal employees and it is company policy to promote from within wherever possible.
