Minimum requirements for the role:Must have a bachelors degree in Packaging Science, Graphic Design, or a related fieldMinimum 5 years experience in regulatory affairs, quality assurance, or packagingCertification in regulatory affairs or quality assurance is essentialMust have Knowledge of ISO 22000 / FSSC 22000Strong knowledge of global packaging regulatory requirements as well as packaging design and development is requiredMust have experience in quality control and assuranceAbility to manage tasks in a fast-paced environmentFamiliarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is advantageousExpertise in packaging material management, artwork management, and supply chain managementProficiency in MS Office and packaging software (e.g., Oracle, SAP) is essentialUnderstanding of labelling regulations and compliance is advantageousExcellent communication and project management abilitiesMust have a valid drivers license and be willing to travel when requiredThe successful candidate will be responsible for:Staying up to date with packaging-related regulatory requirements (e.g., R36 Act).Interpreting and applying regulations and guidelines to ensure packaging compliance.Collaborating with the regulatory affairs team to resolve packaging-related issues.Reviewing and approving packaging materials (labels, inserts, cartons, etc.).Verifying that materials comply with regulatory requirements and company standards.Maintaining records of approved packaging materials.Reviewing and approving labelling content for accuracy and compliance.Ensuring consistency in labelling across different products and markets.Working with marketing and regulatory teams to address labelling issues.Developing and implementing protocols for packaging process validation.Conducting audits to ensure compliance with validated processes.Addressing any deviations or non-conformities.Coordinating the creation and approval of artwork for packaging materials.Ensuring consistency in branding, design, and regulatory information.Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure packaging compliance for new product launches.Providing expertise on labelling and packaging regulations during launches.Inspecting packaging materials and finished products.Addressing any packaging-related quality issues and collaborating with the quality control team to implement corrective actions.Developing and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs) for packaging operations.Training packaging staff on regulatory requirements and company policies.Maintaining accurate records of training and documentation.Identifying opportunities for process improvement in packaging operations.Working with cross-functional teams to implement process changes.Monitoring and assessing the effectiveness of implemented changes.Researching and evaluating new packaging suppliers for cost-saving and quality improvement opportunities.Negotiating pricing and minimum order quantities (MOQs) with suppliers.Maintaining accurate product specification forms for both new and existing products.Ensuring packaging master data is updated in the Syspro system.Please note that subsequent to the screening and shortlisting process, all further communication will be entered into, only with the shortlisted candidate
