The group was founded in 1978 and has its Head Office based in Midrand, Johannesburg.Our client has since grown to over 200 stores to date, employing over 18 500 full-time and part-time employees and is now looking to recruit an Organisational Development Manager to join their team.Job Purpose:Strategic implementation of organisational development activities through research, design, development, and facilitation of OD interventions to optimise the alignment of the workforce and key business strategies and initiatives.Responsibilities:Organisation Design:Strategic organisational design through understanding organisational structures and job specific requirements to contribute to the HR Strategy of the companyConduct job analysis and evaluations and development of job profilingImplement and maintain job grading systemCreate competency modelPerformance Appraisals and Management:Identify performance targets and link with job profileDevelop methods of measuring if performance management aligns with organisational goalsDevelop, review, and implement performance management policies and proceduresGuide management on performance appraisal and management principlesAssist management to create project timelines and deadlinesWorkforce and Succession Planning:Design and implementation of succession planning in line with company's talent management frameworkGuide management on succession and career development to ensure the sustainability of the businessProvide input into employee risk movement and develop strategic plan to ensure higher retention rateDevelop, review, and implement succession planning policies and proceduresEvaluate job satisfaction and corporate culture through climate surveys and develop and implementation action plan to prevent high employee turnoverDesign and implement competency-based assessment and analysesCompile appropriate test batteries for different assessment purposes and according to competency requirementsObtain quotes from suppliers when required and consider costing when suggesting assessmentsInterpret results obtained from assessments and utilise information in an ethical mannerProvide feedback on assessment results to relevant members of the HR team, Department Heads as well as respondentsUtilise the information obtained from assessments in order to suggest and implement relevant HR interventionsLeadership Strategy: (Wellness)Facilitate team building, group forming, strategic planning, and training sessions to ensure cohesive functioning of teamsDiagnose potential organisational problem areas and liaise with management to implement strategies counter concernsConflict Management within teamsDesign and implement leadership strategies in line with business objectivesDevelop and drive change management initiativesHR System Support:Respond to and assist Stakeholders with any query related to the Learning Management System and Performance Management & SuccessionEnsure Heat calls are closed within the Service Level Agreement timeframeAssist with monthly regional and departmental reportingReporting and Administration:Compile monthly training reports for Group Organisational Development ManagerPrepare and maintain budget reports to justify expendituresEnsure accurate and up to date data capturing and filing according to department standardsGeneral:Adhere to companies policies and Standard Operating ProceduresAdhere to Health and Safety rules and regulationsQualification, Experience and Requirements:Tertiary Qualification in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology or a related fieldAdvantage: Qualification in Organisational DevelopmentEssential: Minimum of 3 years' OD and Managerial experienceAdvantage: Previous HR/OD experience in the Retail / FMCG industrySalary:Market related based on level of experienceWorking Hours:Flexible around 08:00 - 17h00, Monday to FridayLocation:Head office – MidrandApplication Process:Should you wish to apply for the position, please apply directly via this job board, ensuring that you quote reference number 202621 in the subject heading or email body.Surgo (Pty) Ltd will consider all applications in terms of its Employment Equity (EE) and is committed to maintaining diversity in its appointments.
