Main PurposeOperator is responsible for the effective execution of MC Machining duties within the Machining division.Key AccountabilitiesThe Ability to perform MC Programming, Setting and Operating;Ability to Read and interpret Engineering drawings;Understand the use of all measuring equipment and check before using;Mount and Setup Tooling;Setup work piece Zero Point;Work with precision measuring instruments including verniers, callipers, rulers and the like;Shaping, slotting, milling, grinding, gear cutting and boring of items to predetermined tolerances;Understand Axis System (3DMill);Load Programs from an external device;Ability to understand Machining and Fitting concepts;Ability to Jig and think outside the box;Adhere to Quality, Environment, Health and Safety procedures.AuthorityHave freedom of authority to make decisions pertaining to the job as well as the use of personal discretion; limited only by time and quality. Co-ordinate and planning of jobs with the Chargehand.SafetyReport any accidents and incidents immediately;Responsible for the safe operation of machinery, inspection, reporting of deviations and for-seeing errors and problems which may occur;Responsible for personal safety and that of all sub-ordinates by ensuring that you and your sub-ordinates comply with company health and safety rules.General DutiesHousekeeping and ensuring that all components are adequately cleaned;General maintenance and Service of Equipment being operated i.e. general inspection of machine and reporting to supervisor any issues observed;Must be available to work overtime when required;Available to be on standby for call outs outside working hours;Ability to work in a pressurized environment where priorities are sometimes determined by clients and not management;Always be well presented.Minimum RequirementMatric;5 years experience;Transport must not be an issue.Desired SkillsMC machining;Programming;Axis System.Desired Qualification LevelGrade 12 / Matric.
