Operations/Workshop Manager

Requirements: 5 Years hands on operations management experienceAt least 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the car rental or automotive industry.Mechanical knowledgeStrong administration skillsPresentable with good communication skillsDiploma in fleet or operations management is an added benefitKey Responsibilities: Fleet ManagementOversee the maintenance, repair, and servicing of a 250-car fleet to ensure all vehicles are roadworthy and meet quality standards.Develop and manage preventative maintenance schedules to minimize vehicle downtime.Ensure vehicles are prepared and delivered on time to meet customer bookings and reservations.Monitor fleet utilization and recommend strategies for optimization and efficiency.Communicate downtime to sales team with accurate deadlines on availability to optimize rental income.Workshop ManagementSupervise daily operations of the workshop, ensuring quality control and adherence to deadlines.Manage a team of technicians, mechanics, and support staff to deliver timely and effective repairs.Establish and maintain standard operating procedures for repairs and maintenance.Source, negotiate, and manage relationships with suppliers for parts and materials.Conduct regular audits of tools, equipment, and safety standards in the workshop.Ensure workshop cleaning culture is adhered to and managed at all times.Manage workshop shifts and overtime.Panel Shop & Rim Repair ManagementOversee all panel-beating and spray-painting work, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.Coordinate with the panel shop team to ensure timely delivery of vehicles after cosmetic repairs.Inspect completed panel work to guarantee high-quality finishes and customer satisfaction.Prioritize minor repairs such as bumpers and minor scratches with a 4-hour turnaround time.Ensure damaged hub caps/rims are repaired/replaced prior to any rental.Ensure the rim repairer has sufficient hub caps and rims to avoid downtime for repairs.Sign off on all orders for parts, materials, and consumables.Administrative DutiesMaintain accurate records of all repairs, maintenance, and servicing activities.Prepare monthly/weekly reports on all vehicle malfunctions and panel shop performance.Manage all maintenance and repairs related expenses.Ensure new/for sale vehicles go through Roadworthy, major service, and fitment of tracking units.Inspect job cards and ensure accurate fitment of all parts.Customer ServiceCollaborate with the customer service team to address vehicle-related issues promptly.Ensure vehicles meet customer expectations in terms of cleanliness, functionality, and appearance.Ensure all vehicles are on time for rental.Utilize the "vehicle upgrade policy" in case of an emergency.Roadside AssistanceCarry the 24-hour roadside assistance telephone, attend to all calls and assist clients with queries and malfunctions.Send out the technician on standby to attend to vehicle malfunctions, ensuring the technician is:On timeDressed wellPrepared with all parts required to ensure a good repairOccasionally attend to malfunctions with technicians to monitor behavior, client experience, and technician overall performance.Manage the process of vehicle and part handover on a weekly basis.Ensure roadside assistance vehicle is maintained and serviced on time; no downtime can be afforded.Vehicle exchanges due to malfunctions to go through the "vehicle exchange procedure."In case of major accidents, attend the accident scene and write reports for future reference.Parts DepartmentOversee parts departments.Sign off on all large orders.Participate in monthly stock takes to ensure accuracy.Ensure parts department is kept neat and tidy at all times.Build healthy relationships with suppliers.Manage part turnaround times to minimize downtime.Technical Skills:Strong knowledge of automotive mechanics, diagnostics, and maintenance processes.Experience in managing panel shop operations will be beneficial.Proficient in fleet management software and workshop management tools.Soft SkillsExcellent leadership and team management abilities.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Create and maintain a healthy working culture.Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Fleet availability rate.Maintenance and repair turnaround time.Quality control pass rate for vehicles.Cost efficiency of workshop and panel shop operations.Monthly vehicle malfunction ratio.On-time vehicle availability.Application Process: If you meet the requirements and are interested in this opportunity, please send your CV to ******.
