DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Operations Supervisor at the Distribution Centre is responsible for supervising daily distribution operations, ensuring efficient logistics, inventory management, staff supervision, and adherence to health and safety regulations. This role focuses on the timely distribution of poultry products while maintaining high-quality standards and customer serviceOperational Supervision:
Supervise daily operations of the poultry distribution centre, ensuring smooth and effective processesAssist in developing and implementing operational policies and procedures to optimize productivityMonitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and use data to support operational improvementsStaff Supervision:
Assist in recruiting, training, and managing warehouse workers and administrative personnelConduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and developmentFoster a positive and collaborative work environmentLogistics Coordination:
Oversee inbound and outbound logistics to ensure timely delivery of poultry productsCoordinate with suppliers, transport companies, and other stakeholders to optimize logistics operationsSupport the development and maintenance of efficient routing and delivery schedulesInventory Management:
Supervise inventory control processes, including receiving, storage, and distribution of productsAssist in implementing and maintaining inventory management systems to track stock levels and minimize wasteConduct regular inventory audits and promptly address any discrepanciesQuality Control and Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and industry standardsImplement and enforce quality control measures to maintain the integrity of food productsMaintain cleanliness and organization within the distribution centreCustomer Service:

Assist in preparing and managing budgets, monitoring expenses, and identifying cost-saving opportunitiesAnalyze financial reports to identify trends and areas for improvementEnsure accurate and timely billing and invoicing processesREQUIREMENTS: A relevant qualificationMust have a matric certificationA valid C1 driver's license - AdvantageousProven experience in a supervisory role, preferably in the food distribution industryStrong leadership and team management skillsCustomer service and admin experienceExcellent organizational and problem-solving abilitiesProficiency in MS OfficeStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentKnowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices in the poultry industry
