OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR – DURBAN
Manage daily operations of the branch by maintaining standard operating procedures to ensure smooth & efficient running of the branch.
Duties and Responsibilities:Responsible for sales, administration and business processes at the store and highlight any deviation from this to line managerManagement of staff requirements including approvals of overtime and incentives, disciplinary hearings and warning lettersPlanning and achieving sales targets and increasing of branch profits and turnover by coaching and guiding sales peopleDaily 1 on 1 with each sales person focused on customer requirements and how to improve service levelsDaily operations status and planning meeting to ensure communication between sales, warehousing and production to ensure customers are serviced at the expected and communicated levelCustomer liaison and resolution of complaintsIdentify reasons for customer dissatisfaction and suggest improvement plans to line managerMaintain retail and wholesale price lists against group recommendation as highlighted by line managerEnsuring daily cycle counts are conductedProcess all stock credit notesInvestigate reason for stock credits and reduce number contributing to stock outs or incorrect item soldSourcing stock as and when required from alternate suppliersMaintain fully functional showroom with a full range of samples on displayEnsure all samples are labelledEnsure all signage and posters internal and external are currentEnforce all SOP's across all departmentsParticipate in the growth strategies to support overall business objectives and plansWeekly operations meeting with all key staff and supervisorsMaintain opening, closing and security requirements for the storeMonitoring CCTV and Alarm system after hoursMaintaining of building and outside of the premises ensuring it is clean, neat and presentable to all customersEnsure cleanliness is maintained on all departmentsEnsuring all equipment is fully functional, serviced and testedEnsure vehicle checks are done daily and maintained by warehouse controllerConducting Daily, weekly and monthly branch admin checks as highlighted by financeDaily processing of day end posting ( cash up, cashbook batches etc.)Daily posting and maintenance of expense issues and confirm requirement is correctEnsuring production output is achieved according to group standard, if not achieved escalate to line managerEnsuring Cab fit department maintains stock levels to service demand.Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Computer Literate in google apps, and MS office (excel, word)Ability to motivate staff and create a positive environmentExperience in the woodworking industryExperience in a supervisor or management positionManagement of people - min 15 peopleExperience on an ERP system, preferably SAGE EvolutionExperience in implementing operational processesLeadership and decision-making qualities and skillsCommunication and interpersonal skillsEducation and Qualification:Grade 12 Qualification or equivalentRelated tertiary qualificationsMandatory Requirements:Min 24 months experience in a supervisor or leadership position
