Who are We?Sanlam Financial Markets ("SFM") is the business unit in Sanlam Group that is responsible for managing shareholder credit, market, and liquidity risks, developing balance-sheet enabled products, and developing solutions to optimize Sanlam's balance sheet(s) to generate shareholder value.Operating as Sanlam Structured Solutions, a division of Sanlam Investment Management, when dealing with third party clients, it prides itself on its ability to provide both best of breed and bespoke solutions. Our specialised team has the systems, and ability to analyse, develop, implement, monitor and advice on derivative strategies which aim to enhance returns, provide protection and/or investing to meet obligations (asset liability matching).What will make you successful in this role?What will be your key responsibilities?Assisting with implementation and administration of all trades (close interaction with Curo Fund Administrators)Assisting with ongoing monitoring and administration of existing tradesAssisting with monthly and quarterly reportingReviewing and confirming trade contracts for legal and financial consequencesOngoing monitoring of collateral positions related to tradesComprehensive support to the front office team in order to successfully service the clientsMaintain an in-depth knowledge of client and products invested by clientAttending to client queries timeouslyInvolved in ad-hoc accounting and operational related projects and activities.QualificationsB.BusSci/ B.Comm or other appropriateExperience and KnowledgeMinimum of 2 years investment experienceAbility to analyse financial information and awareness of the financial reporting requirements for different products within the asset management reporting environment and an understanding of financial markets and instrumentsBasic knowledge of derivative instruments would be recommendedLegal background or experience, particularly in derivative instruments will be advantageousComputer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office (word, excel)Knowledge and SkillsFinancial analysis and planningFinancial Management and controlFinancial ReportingFinancial risk and governance ManagementPersonal AttributesTeam player and proactive individualExcellent listening, communication and inter-personal skillsAbility to work independently and use initiativeHigh level of accuracyThrives in a high-pressured environmentDemonstration of living the company's values – being transparent, passionate and innovativeCore CompetenciesBeing resilient - Stage 3Collaborates - Stage 3Cultivates innovation - Stage 3Customer focus - Stage 3Drives results - Stage 3Build a successful career with usWe're all about building strong, lasting relationships with our employees.
