Operations Specialist

Exceptional opportunity for a dynamic Operations Specialist who has settlements experience. This role supports the dealing desks with local and global settlements, private client administration and post trade support activities. Preference for candidates who have written and passed JSE and RPE exams, but willing to consider candidates still pursuing these. Responsibilities: Run settlement function of Equity, Derivative and Bond Trades, follow relevant exchange Rules and DirectivesVerify implemented procedures and action settlement of all transactions follow relevant exchange Rules and DirectivesAdvise relevant exchange of issue that potentially may impact on settlement of a transactionLiaise with Settlement Authority of relevant exchange, ensure efficient and timely settlement of all transactionsCheck processing of journals, cash payments and receipts Reconcile Net Settlements schedules to Bank Statements, and BDASolve external and internal queries relating to trades from brokers, clients and custodiansMaintain solid client and stakeholder relationships, ensure any issues are identified and resolved Liaise with trade support team,monitor daily post trade settlements for international equity trades and escalateUpdate metrics concerning settlements and post trade activitiesCheck that trades are matched between client and stakeholderTrading Desk AllocationsManage Private Client trading instructions and reporting with trading deskCompile of incident reportsManage and document business processes and Standard Operating ProceduresLiaise with Compliance Officer ensure Compliance with legislation, Exchange Rules and Directives, taxationRequirements: Minimum of a completed BCom, B.Compt or similar equivalentMust have 3-5 years' experience in investments, stockbroking or financial markets operationsMust have previous Settlements experience both local and international and a solid understanding of financial instruments Proficient in Excel, Accounting & Exchange Systems,Mecras, BDA Please note that if you have not heard from us within 2 weeks of your application, please consider it as unsuccessful for this particular role.
