The Operations Manager will run and oversee all operational aspects of the business. This will include engaging with clients, overseeing the workshop, logistics, setting up and running the manufacturing division as well as taking an active role in the growth of the business. It is a young business and part of the role will include building the team, implementing policies and procedures and setting the business up for future growth. Key Responsibilities: Leadership and Management: Build, lead, mentor, and manage teams. Develop and implement departmental goals, objectives, and policies. Growth and new business: Identify new opportunities in the market, conceptualize the business plan and implement the plan once approve Build and maintain the client base Gauge client satisfaction and address concerns where the arise Operational: Oversee the workshop to ensure work is completed in a cost effective and timely manner Take lead of the reverse engineering process to design and manufacture parts and components in-house to drive security of supply and cost reduction initiatives Set up and oversee the manufacturing arm of the business. This will include the manufacturing of casing, drill rods, adaptors and components used in the repair processes Oversee the sales teams to ensure continued growth in third-party sales Project Management: Plan and execute special/new projects Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively. Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes. Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance and support to the team on complex engineering issues. Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, standards, and quality control measures. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices. Analyse system performance and recommend enhancements. Foster a culture of innovation and efficiency within the team. Budget and Resource Management: Develop and manage the departmental budgets, including equipment and supply expenditures. Optimize resource allocation and manage inventory of mechanical parts and tools. Qualifications and Other Requirements: Bachelors degree or Diploma in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field. Proven experience (typically 10 years) in engineering and management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment, and maintenance practices. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in project management and budgeting. Ability to analyse complex problems and develop effective solutions. Knowledge of safety regulations and quality standards in mechanical operations.
