Qualifications: Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Forestry or another relevant discipline such as Business, Engineering, Environmental Management, Agriculture, etc.4-7 years of experience in forestry including harvesting, GPS, and GIS.
Candidates with management experience in other heavy industries may be considered (construction, mining, utilities, oil & gas, manufacturing).Strong organizational, problem solving, and time management skillsMust enjoy working in an industrial forestry environment, while focusing on continuous improvementValid Class 5 Driver's License (or ability to obtain) with a clean driving recordStrong communication skills, and attention to detailDemonstrate the ability and interest to take part in additional training and take on progressively more responsible roles within the organization.Experience in Microsoft Office, GPS, and GIS devicesKey Responsibilities: Plan and execute our harvest logging plans for one of our regional woodlands operations.Working with contractors to deliver on daily and weekly production targets and influencing progress towards productivity and efficiency goalsImplement forest prescriptions while following strict company environmental rules and policiesPlanning and delivery of volume to the sawmill and other customers.Tracking, reporting and root cause analysis of safety, quality, cost, and delivery results.Preparing budgets and managing costs within your specific responsibilities.Participating in Continuous Improvement initiatives and other team projects as requested.Ensure activities are conducted in compliance with all applicable Occupational Health and Safety Requirements, forestry legislation, and companys Forestry Management System.You will be required to work and form positive relationships stakeholders.
