Purpose of the job: To operate the plant in an efficient manner following the operation procedures in order to satisfy safety, environmental, technical capability, National Transmission company protocols and standards, the codes and the law. Reports to the Plant Manager Minimum Qualification - Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical Engineering Experience required: 10 years experience in the operation of a power plant, oil and gas, petrochemical or in the chemical industry, 3 of which should have been in the capacity of Operations Manager in a large thermos solar power plant Knowledge: HSSE policies and procedures Operation of a Solar Plant Skills: Ability to analyse situations and solve problems Work under pressure Methodical and efficient Honest, trustworthy and reliable Highly motivated and self driven Flexible Areas of responsibility: Organizing and co-ordinating resources, prioritize activities to ensure the plant operation in accordance to the load dispatch requirements and weather forecast. Timely response on any plant operational problem. Ensuring all operation activities are performed in compliance with laws and regulation. Develop and guide the implementation of work safety procedures and practices Keep updated guidelines and procedures. Organizing and co-ordinating required technical training to enhance the professional skills of the Operations team. Responsible for providing high standard plant operation service according to O&M agreement. Responsible for the overall administration and supervision of operation staff and operating activities in accordance with established work plans and schedules. Develop and establish cleaning strategies to keep reflectivity of Solar Field according O&M agreement. Participate in and concur with decisions regarding new design criteria, technical specifications and operating methods related to the plant. Provide inputs and guidance to the preparation of plant operating budget and cost control systems. Directly supervise and assume responsibility for the performance of the operating personnel reporting to him/her. Conduct regular meetings with senior subordinates to discuss work progress, schedules, problems, interferences, priorities, etc. Assume responsibility for efficiency and progress of work in accordance with production schedules and establish standards. Recommend to the Head of O&M and initiate changes in methods, schedules and procedures needed to meet specific exigencies of the plant operations. Maintain an information system, which provides sufficient data to ensure that operations are being accomplished within specified limits, schedules and technical parameters. Ensure and advise on proper and effective allocation and development of human resources to ensure maximum efficiency. Submit periodic reports to Head of O&M and keep him informed regarding all matters relating to plant operations.
