Job DescriptionDanfoss is looking for an Operations Manager to join our Fluid Conveyance team in South Africa. The Operations Manager is a new role that will be responsible for overseeing the plant's manufacturing operations in Richards Bay and at the customer's premises and Supply Chain/Logistics operations in Johannesburg. You will plan, organize, direct, and control all facets of the safety, quality, supply chain, and manufacturing operations.This is an onsite position at our facilities in Johannesburg or Richards Bay.Job ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:Provide leadership, direction, and guidance to functional leaders of safety, quality, supply chain, warehousing and manufacturing.Liaise closely with regional sales team to meet customer expectations and grow the business. Manage customer relationships and technical assistance through customer visits and audits.Build a highly motivated and committed workforce with an emphasis on the development of skills needed to accomplish safety, quality, on-time delivery, and product cost goals.Proactively implement, promote, and maintain a safe working environment through diligence in accident prevention, investigation, equipment maintenance, and rule enforcement.Coordinate, leverage, and appropriately utilize resources to resolve manufacturing and logistics problems, improve processes, meet external and internal customer demands, and ensure business objectives are achieved.Manage the production capacity and import planning in line with customer demand.Effectively communicate information (in various types of meetings & settings) of a wide range of performance measures.Drive the company's vision and mission by reinforcing ethics, values, and quality policies throughout its area of responsibility.Act as a business partner by planning, initiating, leading, measuring, monitoring, and assessing continuous improvement programs and manufacturing process improvements by applying appropriate Danfoss Business System (DBS) processes and problem-solving tools such as 6S.Promote a quality culture by demonstrating customer focus and regularly communicating customer feedback to employees to facilitate collaborative problem-solving, drive continuous quality improvement, and ensure alignment/compliance with industry standards.Background & SkillsThe ideal candidate possesses these skills:Bachelor's degree qualification in either Industrial Engineering or Project Management is preferred for the role.Experience in an Operations/Supply Chain/Logistics role within a technical/hydraulic or engineering industry is essential.Exceptional communication skills with people management experience is required.Proficiency in all Microsoft Office tools.Knowledge/experience in SAP is preferred and would be an added advantage.Experience working in a matrix organization with various reporting lines as well as being familiar and dealing with international stakeholders is a must-have.Employee BenefitsWe are excited to offer you the following benefits with your employment:Bonus systemPension planPersonal insuranceCommunication packageOpportunity to join Employee Resource GroupsState of the art virtual work environmentEmployee Referral ProgramThis list does not promise or guarantee any particular benefit or specific action.
