Hire Resolve is seeking an experienced Operations Manager on behalf of our client, a leading logistics company specializing in Dangerous Goods services.

The ideal candidate will bring strong operational expertise, leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the complex logistics involved in the international movement of dangerous goods.
Responsibilities Lead and develop business operations in sales, customer service, and logistics to align with overall company strategy.
Drive business growth by expanding the customer base and improving customer retention.
Ensure compliance with Dangerous Goods (DG) regulations and operational procedures.
Oversee resource management to optimize cost efficiency and operational performance.
Manage the handover and progress of customer jobs, ensuring timely updates and issue resolution.
Monitor and evaluate service provider performance and costs, addressing any discrepancies.
Supervise the Operations Team, fostering skill development and maintaining seamless operations during staff absences.
Ensure safe, compliant packing and handling of dangerous goods according to IATA and DG guidelines.
Oversee operational readiness by managing equipment, vehicles, IT systems, and stock levels.
Produce regular reports on financial performance, operational activities, and competitor insights.
Cultivate a high-performance team culture focused on service excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Requirements Proven experience in the freight or courier industry, with Dangerous Goods "Cat 6" Training highly preferred.
Previous experience in a management or supervisory role.
Operational background in logistics, particularly handling dangerous goods.
Strong organizational, leadership, and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to interact effectively at all levels.
Strong competencies in problem-solving, time management, and interpersonal communication.
Self-motivated with a keen attention to detail and a drive for excellence.
Ability to work independently while maintaining a strong focus on customer service.
High level of PC literacy and proficiency with relevant software applications.
Proficiency in stock control and administrative functions.
