Our client is a leading provider of real-time monitoring and control solutions for industries such as Pharmaceuticals, Retail, Cold Storage, Wineries, Breweries and Agriculture across South Africa.They are looking for an OPERATIONS MANAGER to be based in Bellville, Cape Town.THE PURPOSE OF THE ROLE IS TO:ensure the efficient and effective running of the companys operations, aligning with strategic goals to deliver high-quality products and services to customers. This role bridges the gap between strategic vision and practical implementation.THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE ARE:A minimum of 3-5 years in an operations management role AND experience in supply chain management, including procurement, logistics, supplier negotiations, contract management, and inventory control.Experience in developing and managing customer service and/or technical support teamsExperience in an accounting system such as Sage will be highly beneficialA strong background in process optimization and implementation. DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:Identifying and implementing improvements in operational processes to enhance efficiency and productivity. Allocating and managing resources (personnel, technology, and materials) effectively to achieve operational goals. Using data and analytics to track operational performance and identify areas for improvement. Overseeing the integration of sensors with the custom IoT platform to ensure high-quality products. Implementing and maintaining quality assurance processes to ensure product reliability and customer satisfaction. Fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the operations team. Managing procurement processes, and maintaining strong supplier relationships to ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing. Implementing effective inventory management systems to balance stock levels, minimize costs, and prevent shortages. Overseeing logistics to ensure timely delivery of products and materials. Leading cross-functional teams to deliver IoT solutions on time and within budget. Coordinating with R&D, supply chain, and customer support teams to ensure seamless project execution. Identifying and mitigating project risks to ensure successful completion. Developing and managing customer service and technical support teams to promptly address client needs and resolve issues. Gathering and analyzing customer feedback to inform product and service improvements. Maintaining strong relationships with key customers to ensure satisfaction and loyalty. Leading, motivating, and developing the operations team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment. Ensuring that staff are well-trained and equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge. Setting performance goals for team members and conducting regular evaluations. Preparing and managing operational budgets to ensure cost-effective operations. Monitoring and controlling operational expenses to meet financial targets. Providing regular financial and operational reports to senior management. Ensuring operations comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies. Identifying and mitigating operational risks to ensure business continuity. Implementing strategies and policies set by senior management, ensuring alignment with the company's overall vision and goals. Developing and executing operational plans to meet strategic objectives. Staying updated on industry trends and innovations to inform strategic decisions and operational improvements. Engaging with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and internal teams, to support operational objectives.
