We are urgently hiring an Operations Manager for a Restaurant in DurbanvilleKey Responsibility:Coordinate daily front of house restaurant and wine tasting operations Deliver superior service and maximize guest's satisfaction Respond effectively to guests complainsOrganize rosters and supervise shiftsEnsure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations Responsible for stock flow and budgeting Engaged with the guests and responding to their needs as required Trainings of staff on new ideas and itemsManage all staff related issues, performance management, disciplinary issues and grievances etcCome up with innovative ideas to promote and advertise the restaurantManage a close relationship with the Owners and back of house staffOverseeing efficient cash-ups and managing budget with the finance department Administrative duties including record keeping, processing emails and meeting with suppliersManagement and Administration:Ensure that all SOP systems and other standards of the restaurant is consistently metEnsure that all legal requirements are consistently metDevelop and implement policies and procedures for the food and beverage department Address complains from the guest to the CEO on appropriate corrective actions takenApprove all invoices before submitting to accounts department Ensure that an accurate reservation system is in placeConsistent staff training regarding handling procedures insure minimal crockery breakages Greet guests and oversee actual service on a routine basisDevelop an operating budget for each of the departments Ensure management of food cost are in budgetary targetsManage operational costs BudgetAnalytical thinking and problem solvingDevelop and train staff to become effective users of the POS to generate efficiencies and drive control procedures Responsible for the proper accounting and reconciliation of the POS revenuesInventory Management:Design and implement procedures regarding inventory stock countsConduct stock variance and compile a monthly reportImplement corrective action to reduce stock variance and wastageBuild and maintain relationships with suppliers negotiating prices and qualityMarketing:Liaise with the Marketing agency to promote, advertise the restaurant and tasting centreAssist with planning and approving external and internal marketing Develop ways of promoting functions for the restaurantREQUIREMENTS:Qualification in food service/Hospitality Management 4-6 years Restaurant Management experience, and work in top South African Hospitality establishments Well presented, service focused with the ability to deal with distinguished clientele Stress tolerant and to work under pressureAbility to solve problems and fine solutions Shows attention to detail, must be self disciplined with excellent planning and organizational skills Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidaysExceptional knowledge of food and beverages, including bar and wine varieties Team management and training abilities
