What will you do as an Operational Technology (OT) Technician? The Operational Technology Technician will be responsible for supporting the hardware and software systems that control industrial operations.
These systems, often referred to as Operational Technology (OT), encompass a wide range of technologies, including industrial control systems (ICS), distributed control systems (DCS), automation truck loading software as well as Automatic Tank gauging.

A National Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a relevant related field.Relevant certifications in OT technologies, such as DCS (Yokogawa).Project management certification would be beneficial.Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.Knowledge of Industrial networks and IT networks would be beneficial.Knowledge of batch controllers, tank gauging systems, and the petrochemical environment would be beneficial.Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and OT security standards.Proven experience in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting OT systems in an industrial environment.Hands-on experience with various OT hardware and software platforms.Your core responsibilities are: Installation & Configuration: Install and configure new OT hardware and software systems, ensuring they are integrated seamlessly into the existing infrastructure.Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine maintenance and inspections on OT systems to identify and resolve potential issues before they impact operations. Troubleshoot malfunctions and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.System Monitoring: Monitor OT systems in real-time to identify any anomalies or performance issues. Analyze system logs and data to identify trends and potential areas for improvement.Security & Compliance: Implement and maintain security measures to protect OT systems from cyberattacks and unauthorized access. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards related to OT security.Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of OT systems, including network diagrams, configuration settings, and maintenance logs. Prepare reports on system performance and security status.Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with other IT, engineering, and maintenance teams to ensure OT systems are aligned with overall business objectives. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates on system status and address any concerns.Day to day and after-hours support: Provide day-to-day support on OT related issues that may affect operations and be available to work a standby roster to support OT related issues that arise after hours and on weekends.Project commissioning activities: Provide support with functional testing and assist the commissioning manager and internal customers with commissioning activities on projects involving OT systems.Want to start as Operational Technology Technician at Vopak?
