The Operations Departmental Manager is responsible for organizing and managing all production related activities of the department to ensure the quality and quantity of production in line with long- and short-term plans, while ensuring safe working conditions for all employees and compliance with environmental regulations.
This includes but is not limited to the following:
Understanding of H&S results.Capability of managing IE DMS including unsafe behaviors and conditions, and to implement adequate risk reduction steps.Knowledge of BOS to prevent injuries by monitoring safe behaviors performance and give positive or constructive feedback when needed.Ability to link OGSM with site CBN and create Action plans.Ability to lead shift/daily/weekly/monthly DDS Meetings (in their area of responsibility) to set direction and resolve work issues, in order to deliver the CBN.Able to identify Pillar Tools to address specific losses to improve business results.Drive improvements in department through PDCA process - GAPs to targets are addressed through GAP analysis process.Setting Direction, Identifying & prioritizing losses, solving problems and Developing Yourself (seeking guidance/coaching/training from other teammates or leaders) and Your People.Ability to consistently coach, lead and develop your teams.Drive people engagement and improve PBAT/OHA SWP. Lead OHA focus group discussions and use insights to develop an effective action plan.Knows the concept of Total Employee Ownership and Equipment Ownership.Personally comply with safety standards all the time.Coaching, training, motivating and guiding all equipment owners, cell Lead, Process Lead and Maintenance lead on:Cleaning inspection and lubrication (CIL) process.Trains on the process of removing defects (DH).OSH incident elimination process (IE).Elimination of losses.Implementing and enforcing operating policies and procedures.Delivering agreed production operating targets and goals.Implementing strategies to ensure safe and efficient production operations, continuous improvement and delivering superior quality on a consistent basis.Leads the implementation of the Daily Management System (DMS) in the supervised production Department (all Cells in the area of responsibility).Manages the team to achieve Departmental goals linked to the Site CBN (Compelling Business Need), the Master Plan and the Annual Plan of the department.Main responsibilities:
Create and maintain a safe and healthy working and operating environment for all people in the Department.Drive delivery of agreed production operating targets and goals.Prepare and obtain approval for operating cost budgets and drive production cost performance to achieve agreed budgets and targets.Drive implementation of B-ME, B-Safe and B-EMEC and any other Bridgestone manufacturing strategies and initiatives.Ensure compliance and strict adherence to Bridgestone quality standards.Monitor operations and implement corrective actions to fulfill on-time delivery of agreed production budgets and goals.Identify, coach and develop talent to build competency and capability to support our cell centric organization.Drive employee engagement and compliance with all legal and corporate policies and regulations relating to labor, safety, health, quality and the environment.Management of the clean, inspect and lubricate (CIL) process.Management of Defects Handling process.Management of the Incident Elimination process.Lead execution of 90-day plans to eliminate losses using B-ME tools.Lead the Departmental daily direction setting (DDS) meetings.On the floor coaching of Cell Team and operators on DMS execution, loss elimination, skills development and technical mastery.Provide coaching to team leaders during shift DDS meetings.Lead issue resolution "to root cause" on the floor of chronic stops.Conduct Health checks and identify gaps.Ensure that the cell health checks take place as planned.Drive organizational "E8" Commitments.Required capabilities:
Experience and reasonable technical mastery in operations.Planning, Leading and Organizing skills.Communication skills and willingness to interact with shop floor staff.A desire to be in a lead role.Be a self-starter.Must demonstrate knowledge/experience working with Excel.Sound Interpersonal Skills and ability to work under pressure.Presentation Skills.Analytical Skills.Education and Experience:
