Oncology Pharmacist - Constantiaberg Oncology Centre

Purpose of the Job: Performing efficient drug management.
To order, claim and mix chemotherapy in compliance with provisions of the Pharmacy Act, in order to provide an adequate safe and reliable drug supply.
Key Responsibilities: Accurate dispensing and mixing/compounding of chemotherapy medication Accurate processing of electronic and paper-claims to medical aids Managing medical aid claim rejections and resubmissions (claim queries).
Managing collections from patients (private paying and medical aid co-payments/shortfalls).
Managing debtors accounts and script tracking ensuring collection periods within set norms Managing ethical and surgical stock ordering and receiving and ensuring adequate stock levels Facilitating monthly stock counts and stock system management Ensuring units compliance with all regulatory requirements and SOPs Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) / equivalent qualification Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) Minimum of two years working experience Experience in the mixing and compounding of chemotherapy agents will be advantageous Must be familiar with medical aids and pharmacy claiming processes An interest in the oncology field and have a desire to learn and adapt Ability to work independently and taking ownership of their work environment Working hours are Mondays to Fridays from 07:00 - 16:00 Occasional weekend work if required Good communication and interpersonal skills Analytical thinking and attention to detail Good at time management and able to work under pressure Proficient in using MS Office and Unisolv SAPC and relevant legal knowledge Good planning, organizing and problem-solving skills Strong financial acumen
