ProSidian seeks an Oil and Gas (Petroleum) Technical Expert / Consultant located in Cape Town, South Africa, to support an engagement for the U.S. Government International Technical Assistance Program (ITAP) providing assistance on technical, regulatory, environmental, and financial management for national development on a range of energy and non-energy resources.
Key Areas of Focus: Policy, legal, and regulatory reformTechnical, operational, and economic analysisFinancial mechanisms and market creationEconomic management, transparency, and fiscal policyEnvironmental impacts and social and community issues related to resource developmentCandidates shall provide industry technical expertise, experience, training, and support with Energy, Extractives, and Renewable Energy concerns, such as financing and development of projects involving the Oil and Gas (Petroleum) Industry exploration, extraction, processing, transportation, and sale.
Candidates will advise and assist businesses and individuals involved in the Oil and Gas Industry on an array of legal and business issues that range from day-to-day personnel and operating concerns to complex regulation and litigation matters.
Responsibilities include: Providing Oil and Gas Industry policy advice and support on a full range of legal mattersAdvising on real estate, land use approvals, and siting issuesSupporting management on regulatory issues for joint ownership, construction, and compliance mattersManaging negotiations with royalty owners, joint venture parties, and contractors/suppliersProviding technical expertise and support for environmental and safety regulationsThe Oil and Gas (Petroleum) Technical Expert / Consultant shall have a minimum of ten (10) years of consecutive employment in a position with comparable responsibilities within the past five (5) years. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and related tools and technology required for the position.
