ProSidian seeks an Oil and Gas (Petroleum) Regulatory Expert / Consultant located in Cape Town, South Africa, to support an engagement for the U.S. Government International Technical Assistance Program (ITAP) providing assistance on technical, regulatory, environmental, and financial management for national development on a range of energy and non-energy resources.
Key Areas of Focus: Policy, legal, and regulatory reformTechnical, operational, and economic analysisFinancial mechanisms and market creationEconomic management, transparency, and fiscal policyEnvironmental impacts and social and community issues related to resource developmentCandidates shall work to support requirements as an Oil and Gas (Petroleum) Regulatory Expert / Consultant and provide industry technical expertise, experience, training, and support with Energy, Extractives, and Renewable Energy concerns related to regulatory impacts of energy acquisition, transport, production, and use. This position requires comprehensive knowledge within various functional areas that meet objectives and ensure compliance with regulatory processes, standards, and policies.
Responsibilities: Support stakeholder regulatory compliance functional areas such as sampling, data capture, data analysis, documentation, report preparation, or related areas.Assist in the implementation of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with project requirements.Conduct scientific studies and investigations according to established procedures and apply standards in analyzing and interpreting data.Develop and oversee the use of appropriate procedures and guidelines, review documents for accuracy, and may act as a team lead or technical advisor on small projects.Prepare and supervise technical regulatory resource reports, resource agency consultations, regulatory permit applications, and acquisition of applicable regulatory clearances.Provide regulatory policy advice, assistance, training, and support for compliance programs through inspections and management of regulatory inspection staff.Facilitate presentations and training on various regulatory topics to the Oil and Gas Industry.Provide insight into regulatory processes, pricing, supply and demand dynamics, and market design.Minimum Requirements: Minimum of ten (10) years of consecutive employment in a position with comparable responsibilities within the past five (5) years.Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and related tools.An accredited Master's Degree or recognized Law Degree in Energy Policy, Engineering, Environmental Policy, Political Science, or a related field.Five to seven (5-7) years of directly related work experience involving environmental regulations impacting the Oil and Gas Industry.Energy, Extractives, and Renewable Energy regulatory expertise with Oil and Gas Industry experience.Core Competencies: Teamwork, Leadership, Business Acumen, Communication, Motivation, Agility, Judgment, Organization.Benefits and Highlights: Competitive compensation and employee benefits.401(k) Retirement Savings Plan with company match.Vacation and Paid Time-Off (PTO) benefits.Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and other health-related benefits.ProSidian Consulting is an equal opportunity employer and encourages all qualified applicants to apply.
